Welcome to the Law Office of Debra G. Simms. Our goal is to help people preserve their wealth for their heirs and to help prepare people for incapacity, aging, and illness. This year, we are celebrating our 35th year of legal practice. In addition to a wealth of experience in a wide range of legal matters, Attorney Debra G. Simms brings to her clients experience as a Social Worker and Certified Mediator, along with a passion to help her clients with the most difficult decisions of their lives. Currently, Attorney Simms is engaged in general civil practice, concentrating in Estate Planning, Probate, Guardianship, Real Property Transactions, Bankruptcy and Long-Term Care Asset Protection Planning.

Board Certified Elder Law Attorney

Debra G. Simms is a Board Certified Elder Law Attorney, specializing in Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Advanced Directives, Probate, Guardianship and Medicaid. She has been practicing law for 30 years. She received a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Case-Western University, Cleveland, Ohio and her Juris Doctorate from the Cleveland State University- John Marshall College of Law, Cleveland, Ohio.

Debra’s education in Social Work and Law gives her unique insight into the interface between the two disciplines and helps her to be a knowledgeable practitioner. She is a member of the Elder Law and Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Sections of the Florida Bar and is the Chair of the Elder Law Section of the Volusia County, Bar. She is also an active member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Florida Association of Elder Law Attorneys.
